Weeping injector....

Postby transitdude » Mon Aug 14, 2006 7:00 pm

Hi all,

Just been inspecting the top of the engine and have noticed this on the nearside injector :

Image

I cleaned it off went for a drive, checked again and it's wet with diesel again. Bummer!

On the previous day I was cracking the injectors in order to bleed the system after a fuel filter change and it has obviously been caused by doing this :(

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be done to rectify this situation as I'm guessing it's not a health sign.... the nut is quite tight.
Cheers

FMC state that the injector pipes should not be undone and re-used, the ends of the new pipe form against the injector when tightened.

you could try undoing the pipe union completely and moving the pipe away from the injector seat and then pressing the pipe back against the injector and then tightening the nut up again.

Failing that, it's a set of injector pipes.

I'm hoping that might explain the slight lack of oomph on t'motorway since I've been tinkering.

   can be a right pain mate retry a few times took us a few attempts at billing at weekend on mine but we got it to seal in the end 8)
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
