3000 radio wiring guide

Postby slater14 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:30 pm

Transit SWB MK5 'V' reg 1999 banana

I have the traffic 3000 radio. I have bought a Parrot CK3100 hands free bluetooth system. Parrot website says I need ISO connectors to make it work. I went to Maplins and have bought the ISO kit....now the problems start!

I need to cut the existing wiring off the speakers and power supply plugs. Then I need to attach the ISO cables to those wires and another set of ISO adaptors to the existing plugs.

I need to know what each wire does so I can attach them to the corresponding Parrot CK3100 ISO plug.

Help????

if it's possible before you start, take as many pics of the wiring in the back and some of the kit you are fitting, post on here,as it may be easier to indentify wires and sockets etc and maybe someone can walk you through,

Don't cut any wires, just buy some ford to iso adaptors and some iso to for adaptors, then it's just plug and play, for a couple of quid on eBay

Hmmm....

The Parrot CK3100 has four connections - http://dbinstall.parrot.com/pdf.php?ada ... 00&lang=UK

My radio only has two connections (power and speakers)

Should I be trying to connect all four plugs from the Parrot to my radio or do I only need to choose two and the other two remain loose at the back of the radio?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, auto electrics isn't my strong point....as if you havent guessed!

The parrot goes in between the stereo and the van wiring so you need a set of male adaptors and a set of female adaptors

Got a proper set of ISO Ford connectors (7 connections) off eBay for the princely sum of £3.49 :)

The parrot is up and running and works a treat...very clever bit of kit it is too!
