THE MK2 POLICE VAN IN THE PIC IS NO LONGER AS IT HAS BEEN A TOTAL LOS DUE TO IT COUGHT FIRE ON THE WAY BACK FROM A SHOW.I WAS TALKING TO THE OWNER AT THE ENFIELD PAGENT.HE NOW HAS A NEW GEN RIOT VAN. I THINK HE IS GOING TO BE ON THE RUN 17TH

Pardon the pun, but criminal! How can a fire be a total loss? We've had 2 and still have the vans, though one was officially written off and we rebuilt it. Bet it was the alternator.

classic mk2 police van

fred the police inspected this van for the owner and thay said the fire was so bad that it had twisted all the main body. so the van had to be scraped as it was not safe to go backon the road

probably all the soundproofing in the back caught, helped by dodgy police mechanic wiring :lol:
Seen a couple of ambulances go that way and bought em cheep at auction :D

Last night I actually spoke to a mate of the van's owner, I came into contact with him after getting his number from Classic Cops because I am looking for a classic cop car. He told me that the fire was due to dodgy wiring the owner did, how guilty must he feel? It cought really quick, and they had to just bail out and watch it burn. Even the roof was buckled. Nightmare.............

He now has a Mk3 riot van, will be attending the backbone cruise and is already on the list.
