not progress but an interesting find never the less, i was looking through my old keyring collection for a sutable period keyring for the van and i came across this - forgot i even had it - technicaly it is for a mk3 transit but its the most sutable and relivant keyring i have for my van.

1965 - 1990 25th year celabratory keyring - does anyone know more about this keyring? like where it might have come from, was it given out with the purchase of a new van, would be interesting to know

now this is progress, the guys had it up on the ramps the other day to see what welding it needed, there is no welding to be done to the chassis as it is MINT! but theres some to be done inside the wheel arches and the front right strut mount attached to the inner wing needs some attention, also bit of a repair to be done on one of the foot wells, other than that there are a few holes here and there the size of a 1p piece to be done - unfortunatly its going to be very expencive due to the time having to be spent doing it.

underneath is prety mint

got the rear arches off redy to replace - do excuse the all the crap in the back of the van

front axel and inner arch - prety mint here

rear axel and inner arch, again prety mint here just needs some welding around the edges - i was also told the van has heavey duty rear springs - is this common on german fire vans?
