Chevy v8 diesel

Postby chunky73 » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:16 am

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if it would be possible to fit a Chevy 6.2td V8 in a MK5, Its just
a thought thats all as i have seen them fitted into Range Rovers and it would make
a nicer noise than my Di with huge reserves of torque to play with as well :D

ive put a 400 ci (6.6 l) trans am engine into a mk2 several years ago itll be the same process i take it youll be using the auto box just a case of a bulkhead cut and fabricating mountings have a propshaft made up then plumb in the fuel lines try and find a early one without all the computer stuff on it unless you know a good sparky the rest is just nuts n bolts only thing these 6.2 v8 diesels arnt that economical a petrol and lpg conversion would probably give you a cheaper option
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

Bloody hell,
You lot have given me some serious food for thought!! :?
Im in the middle doing a dayvan/camper conversion at the moment but further
down the line i was thinking of turning my attention under the hood and if it
is'nt too complicated i was thinking of upgrading the old noise box with something a bit more meaty
Ok if i can't V8 can anyone suggest what other powerplant could be used? preferably diesel and preferably
no pesky electronic control common rail bull ect :D

Thanks for your help fellas
