Stunning mk1 camper

Postby Sundowner » Sun Sep 24, 2006 5:08 am

Was at a swap meet today and spotted this mk1

It belongs to scottish lad that had built it up he is the second owner and done most of the work himself

It runs a 3.8 buick ecotech V6 on duel fuel and a 4 speed auto that hauls its 3 ton around with ease will sit on 130kmh with the standard mk1 diff and gives him good mpg

He built the back done the paint and the pinstripes modded the doors to take the spares and they close perfect might i add! made his own power steering and disc brake set up done the engine swap and the dash conversion and the inside is just as good as the out side with a shower and toilet double bed stove oven sink fridge and tv its nicer than some hotels iv stayed at

Theres too much to say about this camper i was totally amazed by the amount and quallity of work thats gone into it

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Now that is nice, somehow it looks very Aussie. I personally wouldn't have put the spares on the doors though. And with the luton style body, isn't the sun visor a bit redundant? Other than that very very nice, like the colour too.

He needs somewhere to put his lights

And i think the reason behind the wheels on the doors is lack of room to put them else where

He said he had a few transit tow trucks back in the UK that had hand crafted timber backs
