24v Cossie 2.9 into a Mk3 ..... starting out ...... :)

Postby dipstick » Tue Sep 26, 2006 8:45 am

Just for info really, i have finally got most of the bits required to put my 24v Cossie v6 into my Mk3. I found a police-spec 2.9 V6 with the adapter plate, engine mounts and MT75 still attached....

I have started to strip the large bits down for cleaning prior to trial assembly, so if anyone wants any photos or diagrams of any bits, i will be putting some digis up on the web soon as......

Cheers

Can you do a template of the adaptor plate and put measurements on it and post it up

rather than measuring it wouldnt it be best to use a spacer off a v6 (doesnt the cossy have one?) to use as a template and drill through :?

the plate needs to be exactly right :D

the one on the left is from an xr4x4 same engine as the 24v, what i mean is place that over the pinto plate and drill through - obviously doing it in a exact way

hmmmm, that is an idea... :)

can't think why it wouldn't work...?

i have noticed that the adapter plate that i have, has some holes recessed to take bolts that have heads 'flush' with the surface of the plate, specifically the top two.

i agree that it needs to be spot on... :-)

are you doing a 24v tranny? if so, how is it coming along?

cheers

Luke, i have just got the two MT75s next to each other, yes the input shaft is the same, they both stick out approx 5mm from the front face of the 'box.

I cannot see any differences between the two boxes at all, on the outside anyway!

I hope this helps in some way.... Cheers :-)
