I've decided to check out your community here, since I'm going to be picking up a new 2011 / 2012 Transit Connect in the next month.
Kind of wanted to see what the community was like here (or THERE, as it may be).
I am a VW kind of person currently. Been in a VW Club ever since I bought my limited edition, 2002 Beetle.
My Beetle has a 1.8l turbocharged motor, with 150hp. It's been a lot of fun to drive and own. The club that I am in has thousands of members all across the U.S., so it was a lot of fun to be part of.

BUT, I'm going to be selling "Sting" and picking up a black Transit Connect. Time to do something new, driving something with more functional, useable space, if that makes sense.
Here in the U.S. our Transit's are pretty LOW on options. It only comes in a 2.0l, 130hp motor, in an automatic gearbox. So, at some point I'll be researching putting in a better motor, something Cosworth powered or from a Focus RS. They also only come with cloth seats, and no real options at all. I've been looking around the forums here and seeing what other folks are doing to their Transit Connects, and I am really liking what I see!
As soon as I pick up my TC, I'm getting new wheels put on, and having some slight paint modifications done.
A little bit of Photoshop work shows the kind of idea I am hoping for...
This is how I hope to have it looking rather shortly....

Then I need to research lowering it a bit. I've seen a number of forums talking about flipping the axle, etc. I just need to make sure that here in the U.S. it's the *same* method. Not sure how much the vehicle might have changed when it was imported.
For instance, one of the things I want to change, is that here in the U.S., Ford put the high-mount brake light on TOP of the van, and does not use the brake light mount in the rear door.

I don't suppose anyone has one of these door-mounted lights for sale do they? We have the place to mount it, but right now it just has a blank plate in it.
I want to pull off the giant roof-mounted light and put a small one in the door instead, but I can't find the part # for the light itself.
Any help on that would be fantastic!
I'm sure I'll have a ton of other questions, but it's going to be fun being part of the community I hope
