So long as you know that said keys/lockset should have been described as suitable for Transit '92 model (That is MK4 to you, me and the rest of the forum) or at least clearly specify that the are or aren't with chipped keys

Wooohooooo

Just located a headliner and rear carpet from a tourneo. now to install that and start the noise deadening at anything past 40mph.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=99285&view=next

oh and is is normal for my speedo to tell me i am doing 80 when in reality its 65. only ask cos the more i get past 20mph the more wildly innacurate it gets. is this normal or do i have to replace my speedo

cheers

sure ive seen it about

Was driving through parts of telford myself this weekend (not that thats unusual :) ) but i too saw the twin of my van. only differences being the reg was a couple of years older and the black was to the first set of swage - if i spelt it correctly - lines and mine is to the second.

i should have parked them side by side and got a shot

Found out what the problem with the speedo inaccuracy is.

the van is configured to set the speedo pulse count from the gearbox sender for a 4.11 ratio Diff.

Mine is a 4.?+  so the prop will spin past where the pulse count is set to indicate the accurate speed and show a calculated speed from the prop rebolutions.

got to find some way of solving that. i got a pm from another forum user and will be crawling around under the van at the speedo drive end to see whats what

whilst crawling around under the van i spotted that the flexible joint for the exhaust was on its last legs - ah well - cant expect much for 600 8)

so a spanner session later and another one in its place. still gotta check the speedo drive gear

to be continued....

A little progress roundup

DIFF replaced
Two new tyres on front and wayward tracking sorted
Two seats rebuilt/retrimmed
twin seat changed to single seat
new flexi exhaust pipe section
"loaded" the load bay roof with sound damping material.

This weekend will see the wood floor going in, the sides and roof insulating.

Got the roof insulated and boarded out. Insulated and reboarded the drivers side. insulated and boarded the floor. Srill got to insulate the rear doors. rear loading bay side and door. then its on to sound dampening the cab......

these things tend to take longer than anticipated :?

oh and for good measure i drilled through the wire that feeds the loading bay light. only found that out after i had riveted the roof on. aaarrrrgghhh. Oh well just another thing to be creative with :|
