can any one help? i have decided to keep my a series and restore it but at the moment i have no log book or info on what model it is, the reg number is EJV 651Y it would be much appreciated. :)

The round cylinder type thing at the back is the king pin.

There's not really alot to a king pin, the hardest part would be getting the right hardness of metal so that it would wear correctly.

Can the kingpins for something else be adapted? Say a D series?

d series are different anything can be made,at a price plus you ll need seals its a nightmare

According to your previous posts, your model should be a A 0406 (3.5t, 2.4 diesel) For further information and pictures try this site: http://www.fordaseries.co.uk Forum member mexicodan runs this site, and I think possibly he can help you!

HI, LOG BOOKS ARE EASY TO GET WITH SENDING YOUR HARD EARNED 19.00 TO THE DVLA WHO WILL TAKE A FEW WEEKS TO SEND YOU A NEW ONE, (FORM FROM POST OFFICE NEEDS) AS FOR OTHER INFO , LIKE POSTING ABOVE MOST MODEL SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE MADE OUT FROM ENGINE AND WEIGHT PLATE IN NEARSIDE DOOR, THEN JUST CHECK IT AGAINST THE REFERNCES I HAVE ON MY SITE,,

Easiest way to check kingpins is to jack up the wheel so its clear and put a tyre lever under the tyre big lorry type are best with curve at one end put the curve under the tyre and press down so you're trying to lift the tyre you'll be able to see /feel if there's any play

thanks lads, i thought it was the big one as ford cargo wheels fit :shock: as for king pins they are sound :o today i am doing a bit of welding to the floor and suprisingley its not that bad :shock: i will start a new post as soon as i get my camara back
