The door isnt dented, that is reflection! I agree about the badges, though he did take some off. I will have to paint the others silver! Now all I have to do is get her running properly, she is very reluctant to start!

If you are very, very careful you could scrape the paint off the badges, it doesn't stick too well to the metal. Try a thumb nail first, to avoid a horrible accident with the fresh paint!

It seems that Daisy may be a little beyond me now for repair. She has gone in for her MOT and it seems that she has been plated on to top of old plating and the garage has said they cannot repair her. I am absolutely gutted. She is taxed until the end of this month. I have put so much love into her and never really got to use her! I am getting a second opinion but if she has to go then she has to go quickly, ie by tuesday so no reasonable offer will be refused. She is just outside of Bristol if anybody wants to come and take a look, it would be my dearest wish that she go to somebody who has the capability to get her back on form.

This is a local one man band who also does welding. My father (who knows how upset I am) said that he didnt care if it cost £400 just do it, but the guy still said it couldnt be done. The main problem is that I have nowhere off road to keep her once the tax runs out so am limited as to my options really.

I have yet to see one that couldnt be repaired somehow with the right cash, do your best you will find someone!

Isnt there anyone on the forum from the Bristol area?

It might be an idea to post a new thread asking if anyone can do it, putting Bristol in the title so it grabs the attention of locals :D Not everyone will read this thread and you could be missing out!

I have to agree, never give up! We were told that one of our luton's chassis was beyond repair. That was about 9 years ago! She was out working up to a week ago, just in for her test now. I was told yesterday she need a bit of welding, but if it's £200 I don't really care.... Keep looking for the right welder. They are out there. As to where your welding is, I am guessing from what you say it could be the crossmember. Have a look at my thread on Alex the panel van. Madvanman recently did the crossmember, amongst other welding  .
