mk2 clocks in a series?

can you fit a mk2 clock into an a series? as mine has a tacko and they look cr@p :?

I don't see why not. They fitted mk2's with takos. Not sure but I think you would need to change the housing but you can use cortina or mk 2 escort instrument clusters if you mix and match parts round a bit.
I think I had to swap some of the pins round on the plugs to make it connect up. Depends what engine you have but you only need one wire to the coil for a rev counter, if you can find an escort one I think you get oil pressure as well.

If it's over 3.5 tonne doesn't it require a tacho?

Isn't it a Mk1 transit dash, in which case it's a completly different shape. Doesn't mean it can't be done though. MrMp might be right, but if it's a recovery (on the regististration doc) you won't need a tacho.

what year is the A ???? 76 on yes you can! they are the same dash as the mk2 transit ! :wink:

I din't know that, how did they get the Mk2 dash for the A series, was it pre release, or parts testing?

:? :? fred the A was the same cab as the transit , so erly A ,s had the mk1 dash and the latter had the mk2 dash! :)

What I meant was the MK2 didn't come out till 1978, so how come the Mk2 dash was fitted in the A Series in 1976? Was it how Ford tested them?

I hadn't thought about them having mk1 dashboards. The only one I have seen was mk2, sorry. Same thing applies though you just nedd to find suitable mk1 stuff.

its a mk2 one, the a series is a y reg 82ish, it has a k reg 2.5 diesel lump out of a right off swb minibus,

yea the speedo dont work so i will get a clock & cabel, its showing 29386 km what does that work out in miles? as am told it was a mobile dental surgey and it did very few miles, and it was in original paintwork and the seats have no wear
