Postby zien49 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 7:50 pm

Hi, All, I am new to transits so please bear with me. Is it posoble to fit a twin wheel rear axle diff, into a single wheel axle and use the 1/2 shafts.

No, I have to say I doubt this is possible. Why do you ask? Is your diff stuffed? I think you would be best to get a whole 2nd hand axle, or if you have the money get just the diff replaced.

The axles are completely different as are the diff units. You'd be better off as Fred suggests getting your axle overhauled or fitting another one.On the single wheel axles the diff unit needs specialised equipment to re-fit to ensure it meshes correctly,so it really is a job for someone who knows what they are doing.
