done quite a bit today, the panels I got were awful as the place I get them from don't do hadrian any more apparantly they have gone bust!? so they gave me these dearer ones and they were awful, I had to cut and shape quite a bit, bend etc!
painted inner wing with hammerite and under where new panels go and painted the back of new panels with hammerite so that should keep the rust away hopefully!
here is where I got to before it got dark

bit more done today, made a patch for the step sill and welded in, not happy with this flux cored wire it burns holed through my nice new panels and as yopu can see in pics leaves a mess! and it smokes alot and its hard to see where your welding! but it's better than nothing I suppose, looking forward to getting my bottle of co2 soon i hope!

did lots of filling and rubbing yesterday,
Today I did a bit more rubbing down and filling, sprayed on some hi build just to see what it looks like and to stop the damp. and it looked like this, couple of annoying runs but I will be rubbing it back again anyway,

so now that is both front arches and wings rust free,,, very pleased I did it all myself :)

now a bit more rubbing to do and I can wack some radiant red on and hope it looks ok! and at the same time I will do the grill and bumper, maybe mirrors too,
then it's the back,
any tips on doing the back? is it a total cut out again or has anyone ever just cut out the rust and welded new panels over the top which will slightly widen the rear by a mm or so!!????
any tips would be great, thanks
p.s anyone got one if these?

Felt like I got a bit done today, but all I did was spray the grill and put the doors on, but it looks like I have done alot,
so this is what it looks like now i have sprayed the wings
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

then I tried to fit my new grille it's off a mk4 and I am just trying a few paint ideas on it, it's not finished, I thought these went straight on but the mk5 brackets don't seem to line up, any ideas what's going on!???
Image
anyway this is what it looks like sort of in place but not 1 hole lines up properly and the brackets push it out too far but here is a pic of what it may look like,, or may not!!
Image
Image
anyone know what's wrong with these brackets!!???Image

monday and tuesday I had a bit of a rush to get the van back on the road for today to help someone move house, but now they don't need me till tomorrow! typical,, but this is how it looks at the moment,,, the front is looking much more modern and better in my opinion! shame the back is still exactly the same as it was!!!

what do you guys think of the new look????
