Have you thought about 'big-valve'ing a head Tim?

It's great to see someone trying to get the most out of a di.
They are great engines, very durable, and well worth tuning.
I'd like to do it myself, but won't.

When you've finished your developement work and build up another one from scratch (you know you will)
I'd love to get my hands on this one :wink:

Funny you should mention the valves, there is a spare head sitting by the doorway of the workshop, I am sure that it calls to me every morning :lol:
I do think the valves will have to wait for the 'Mk2' version though!

Once I fit the larger intercooler/C12b turbo/12mm pump combination, then the removed parts, (the ones on there now), will be made available, to any forum member wishing to improve their di.

I am sorry that the thread has been lacking in 'specifics' recently, but I am keen to ensure that my modifications provide good reliability as well as improved performance before encouraging too many of you to follow me into the 'murky unknown'.

Some more work done recently, it is really handy having the 'Surrogate Mother' to test parts for 'fit' :lol:

3 inch exhaust down pipe now fitted to the turbo outlet;

Mrs Dieselhead says, 'I didn't realise that 3 inches was so big' :lol:

Hybrid pump awaiting test and installation;

I am going to test this on the van, just so we know how good it is.

Been a bit quiet on the 'Chucklebus' lately, busy in the Garage with customer's vans and doing the new recovery truck, but....

Had a visit from my Stanadyne rep this week, he brought along a gift, four in fact :lol:
Not strictly gifts but still good :D

I know how much you chaps like 'genuine' spares, I won't say how cheap they were but since the spares are not available to re-furb these, (the nozzle is part of the body), so a re-furb will NOT get you a new nozzle, I decided that brand new was the way to go.

Hopefully these will be in over the weekend, so a good set of 85's will be up for grabs!

Right then lads,

Just stuck the 130's in and at last I have some smoke. 8)

Now, a point to note, the no load speed has increased to 4,600rpm from 4,250 that was the case with the 85's in, no other alterations have been carried out today, the injector change alone has caused this!

Now, I couldn't resist a little drive around the industrial estate, no one else working on a Sunday;
performance?

A monster improvement, at £200 a set, no doubt the best value modification I have made to the van yet 8)
