As a few of you chaps may know, we used to have an Iveco Daily vehicle transporter, this had been used in the past to transport the Makeover Van and had proved very useful. Unfortunately the old truck was not LEZ compliant and recently suffered from 'spontaneous combustion', (somewhat assisted by local 'pond life'
So, out with the old and in with the new, along comes a Mk6 chassis cab, good service history, complete with a curtain side box.
The box was cut up and scrapped to reveal a tidy looking chassis, so into the shop for paint.

On further inspection, we discovered cracks in the chassis to the rear of the cab, both sides of both rails!
Off came the fuel tank and exhaust, out came the mig, on went some large reinforcing plates, these were fitted both sides of each rail, seam welded and 'plugged' to the existing chassis.

I have to say, being spoilt by commercial vehicles with a 'proper' chassis, I was upset to find this on a 12 year old truck
More pictures soon;
