Self service time, question about glow plugs?

Hi Im going to do the usual service bits on my van oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, coolant and was thinking about doing the glow plugs as well but not sure if they are a service item or whether to just change them when I have a problem, also what type to go for was looking to order some bits from opie oils and what coolant is best to use?

Oh and also what brake fluid to use and how much?

If glow plugs are not causing a problem then leave alone. I got my service bits from ford I get trade so not a bad price. £90 inc a Cambelt kit and all the bits you said about except pollen and I get my oil from where I work.

If your going to change glow plugs i suggest you make sure engine is up to engine temperature as it will be easier when you undo them.
If you undo them when cold the metal is much tighter and therefore could cause problems when you undo.
