head lights dimming when driving

When I am driving my head lights dim very low and go bright and dull all the time, when the van is ticking over its fine just when I accelerate, can anyone help me with this dilemma thanks.

Also when I sit and rev it's fine only when driving

smart charge lead that runs next to the rad,do a search there is loads and loads of info/threads about this.common problem

Thanks man al try it, just bought the van and the first night driving it I couldn't see where I was goin lol, if it's not the smart charge what else could it be?

just concentrate on the loom for now, it a very very common problem, the rest of the system is quite robust, had the odd alternator go down but the loom is more common
