Round here they don't touch fridges or freezers cos the scrapyards won't take them

Well, that was good progress today. I got the wheel bearing changed, the patches welded in (thanks Murray!) and one set of brake pads in. Final push tomorrow, then back to the test centre Wednesday!

how much of a mare is it to do brakes... only askin as i need to do discs n pads meself!

Wasn't so bad once I figured out how to push the pistons back in - I found a couple of G clamps in the workshop and used them
The top slider bolt was on an 8mm allen key and the bottom was a T40 torx head - had to go and buy a set of torx drivers for that.

it dont upset me buying new tools if only for job in hand- you got em for life if looked after so its all good!

did you just do pads or discs too? done pads on cars easy, discs too but heard transit discs bolt from inside to hub

I left the old disc on, but I did have the hub off to change the bearing. Wasn't hard, just a bit fiddly to get the top caliper bolt out - it won't come all the way out since it hits off the suspension. It does come far enough to get the caliper off though. I used a stubby little 3/8th extension bar which gave just enough clearence round the shck absorber. Other than that, dead simple.

Here here... I did the discs pads and shoes on my last smiley... All was going extremely well until it came to removing the discs from the hubs... delayed the job by a day!
