help i want to customise my mk5 transit

Postby kingding1976 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:14 pm

hi everyone i have just bought a mk5 semi high smiley transit ( alot more reliable than the mk 6 i had ).
the problem is that i am using this van for my daughter as she races karts so it is our race van.
i would love to modify this van if possible so it looks the part when pulling up at race circuits.
however money is very tight and i cant seem to find any customising parts.
mine is radiant red and fairly good condition with the exception of the o/s rear door bottom.
any help and advise on what wheels , roof spoiler , chrome bars and headlight mods would be gratefull. maybe even side skirts and bumper spoilers.
my daughter wants me to paint it bright pink but im not too sure on how it would look. plus ive got to bloody drive it lol.
thankyou in advance for any help 8) :P

hi welcome the only limitation is your imagination when it comes to customising
depends wether you wanna go subtle or totally outragous
youll find that a lot of things such as chrome a bars ,sun visors are readily available although expensive
take a look at alan ns van for food for thought
or my old van (time to get big wheeled finished)
or latest (pats new project watch this space)
along with alans van there is plenty of good quality modified mk5s (i know alans is a mk3 before i get slated)on here
you just gotta go with what suits your tastes good luck with it
plenty of pice as you go please
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

Id like to return to compliment Pat :D ... but as Pat says, customising is so much about imagination and can be as easy or as hard as your taste, Pats skills are wayout in front, but I do like plastic. Pimping with bolt-ons has to be the easiest route, very expensive and years behind VW T4/5's

thanks for the compliment alan n as you say plastic route can be easier especially if you dont have the time to
do all the metalwork whichever route you chose to go theres some stunning examples on this forum
all have been hard work and the results are fantastic (check out the lights on the rear of alan ns van absolutly amazing work)
eitherway you go good luck the more custom transits on the scene the better
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
