TRUCK RESTRICTED TO 60MPH

Could anyone help me ? just bought a 2002 transit 350 out of an auction to make a recovery out of but i drove it back home about 100 miles and it wouldnt go over 60mph . ive spoke to a few people and theve said with haveing tacho in it would of been restricted from new .
has anyone had simualar problem if so how did you get it sorted any advice would be appreciated cheers Alan

Needs to be plugged at fords

not 100% sure, but depending on type of tacho fitted, on the back when you open the face to put the disc in is a small adjustment for speed warning (red light on clock face). some times this is linked to speed restrictor on vehicle. if you can locate adjuster might be worth altering that and try it. you wont do any harm, its not related to calibration of tacho or anything like that, just a warning of overspeed.

Nope the speed is restriced by the vehicles management sytem and will need to be plugged in at Fords.
