HE HE HE cheers Paul, Its really only for fun at moment anyways as i got a work van and Emma s car too, so the thirst factor isnt too much of an issue as of yet... that said im cacking it but the cost up to billing, but as long as its fast who cares

Gonna get a 3 psi leccy fuel pump, and some exhaust heat wrap too from burtons tomorrow, cos she's hot stuff for sure 8)

does the fuel return on a weber do just that- return un-used fuel(say off gas pedal), so its always on tap so to speak? will 3psi pump be ok?

opinions welcome

The postie brought joy yesterday
Image

So this afternoon i set about Wrapping Exhaust manifolds...

Then i tried the thermal spacer for fuel pump, no good as no thread left to safely bolt pump to.
Blanking plate fitted instead, note Burton Power(Ilford) part number
Image

And a meter of new fuel hose later i fitted the Facet fuel pump nicely out of the blast from radiator fans, and nothing cut so can be put back to manual later if needed.Theres a tapped bolt hole on side of battery tray the perfect size for the rubber bushes, and Even had an ignition switched live left ready to use too! Result!
Image

so now pump not gettin blasted by hot rad air and the manifoldes shouldnt heat the engine bay so much, which should release a few more horses!!! 8)

Nicely done there mate, I'll have the manual pump and thermal space off you then fella.

Be good to see it with your fine tuning adjustments.

Wahoo running sweet as now thanks to carb adjustments by Muttley.
Still gettin used to what is normal and what should be worried about so taking easy but booting up slip roads,in 3rd she sounds lovely.
Nice oldskool note, and roundabouts in 4th at 30mph enough torque to exit without gear change. Had a bloody result with light timings at roundabouts on way home so was a lovely drive in convoy.
Had 3 car loads of kids jaw dropped lookin as they passed he he he

Been a good run save for overheating in Poxy traffic on way up, cos I routed fuel line over manifold even tho 8 plus inches away was still evaporating fuel. Did 200 miles on bout 50 litres of petrol at mixed speeds around 70 so not bad well impressed same as Di maneuver better!

Sweeeeet
