Window conversion to electric kits

Postby Andygump » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:05 am

Hi

Has anyone converted their windows to electric , and if so, what kit did you use.
There seems to be a wide variation in the price of these kits.

Cheers

Best option is original units from a breakers. Aftermarket kits are never as good.

I got two electric window motors and regulators, door panels, door looms and switches for £80 from van breakers in Rochdale.

I found a van breakers in Rochdale. Again just fell lucky as they had a van in with everything still on it. Well at least it did until I finished with it!

Is the correct wiring already in place to retro-fit electric windows do you need to add additional wiring?

Whether or not the wiring in there depends on the sec of the van, if it is a base model with no toys then it is unlikely, but if it already has some electrical extras then there's a good chance the wiring will be there
