We've fitted an uprated fuel pump on this tonight - it was a walbro 244 (same one ive got on my van) :D 1st test drive was very promising 8) but we still have problems with setting the boost level - next step stu is going to take the van and have it set up on a rolling road 8)

unfortunately £80 later they couldn't sort it :( but they confirmed fuel pressure is OK but its rich on tick over and lean on boost :?
they suspect a wiring fault we've put the origanal ecu back on and it does run better - i'd like to try another stage 3??? ecu on it as i'm not convinced the one we have is any good :|

we've now had it running for a while on the standard ecu and its ok :) tried the chipped chip in it and it's no good :( i think the problem is the chipped chip&ecu are for a 2wd and this is a 4wd

we now want a 4wd chip to fit in the origanal ecu, cross our fingers and hope its sorted 8)

make sure the TPS is correct one for the ECU, 2WD one (red from memory) is different to 4WD one (black) I think the 5V and 0V wires are around the other way. What wiring loom are you running? (2WD or 4WD?) 2WD chip not interchangable into 4WD ECU, and vice versa. What numbers are on the ECU?

i think this is the problem the ecu and chip are off a 2wd and the origanal ecu is a 4x4 we've tried the chip in the origanal 4x4 ecu but as you say it wont work.
the wiring loom is a 4x4
we are going to try a 4x4chip in the origanal 4x4 ecu - but the other option is to just swap the tps for a 2wd one but i dont know if it will all swap with the wiring being a 4x4 loom :?

Hi Luke, 4x4 loom will work fine for either ECU. If you have 4x4 TPS (black PF09) then it will work fine, nothing to change, and will run on either ECU (4x4 or 2wd) If you have 2WD TPS (red PF01) then you need to swap outer two wires on TPS connector, as they are wired in reverse. This will also work for either 4x4 or 2WD ECU. Hope that makes sense? :D Also check the colour of the map sensor, should be black if you are running standard chip. And injectors should be dark blue for 4x4 engine, or yellow for 2wd engine (they are the same flow rate as each other) If you have any other colour injectors (or a grey map sensor) then chip needs to match these. Do not try to fit a 2wd chip into a 4x4 ECU ,and vice versa. You will probably damage the chip, and possibly the ECU. For a good "stage one" upgrade chip speak to Graham Goode Racing or Mountune. HTH.
