back seats invans

Postby nickh » Sat Dec 16, 2006 10:29 pm

Hi all
first post,so wish me luck!
Recently bought a late x reg lwb semi high roof big mileage trani for my part time business.I'm thinking about fitting a pair of seats in the back,to take our kids to rugby,to stop trashing the family car.I'm a qualified maintenance engineer so the job shouldn't be beyond me,but where do i stand on getting insurance cover, informing DVLC on change of number of seats etc?.Someone told me i will need someone in the motor trade to fit them & give me a written reciept, for my insurer to accept the change.
All advice (sensible!) received with thanks
