can someone help me please ? mk2 transit

hi there i own a 2.5 di mk2 diesel transit you may have seen it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAUE4J-eXeA
i'm in desperate need of a diesal fuel pump for it as it is leaking badly now :(

looks like the mk1 di as fitted to mk2s with the tin breather what pump would that be ?

if you mean metal air filter box could be a Lucas DI or even a York. If its the original DI its likely to be a Lucas. The Lucas is an oblong pump with CAV cast on the top.
Any Transit CAV Lucas pump will fit your engine if thats whst it is

yeah and I am seeing a phase2 too but you never know what might happen in 20+ years. Could have had a york fitted at some stage. We've had 2 B regs with yorks so it does happen.

Yes they are, yet on this very site some have come on and said they have either had a 2.4 DI or a 2.5 york or just read the unchanged V5 and assumed it was a DI and was infact a york.

2496cc is the di alot of people miscall it a 2.4 :roll: both engines are easy muddled if you dont know mush about them, anyways it will be a lucas cav as they always leak :lol:

hi all it will be a lucas pump just replace it with a bosh as i am doing now my mk2 has a di with a mt75 5 speed box holmes wrecker but it has just started too air lock big style sent it too pb ashers in southampton £117 later for them too tell me we can fix ya pump and replace the lift pump 400 pound na ya ok mate i will shove a boshe pump on it ripped me for ]117 quid

my mk2 wrecker now has a boshe pump on it but i found the cam belt tensioner bolt is threaded so in with a hellicoil we go not the end of the world but p..sed me off but hey o i still love her too bits pulls like a train happy days :o :shock:

:D well happy days helicoil fitted new tensioner bolt in boshe pump on new fuel lines no more air locks on diesel by baby is out of intensive care , good riddons too that sh..ty old lucas cav pump :lol:
