Which one should I get ?

Postby silkysmooth » Wed Nov 07, 2012 4:31 pm

Hi,
I need advice on which van should I buy. Budget up to £3000. For carrying about 1 tone loads around city. Front or rear wheel drive ? 2.0 2.2 or 2.4 engine ? SWB, MWB or LWB ? 80ps - 115ps ? Pref. medium roof
Thanks

For 3k you can have a nice MK6 or a problematic MK7

To carry 1 ton you really should think about a rear wheel drive, which means a 2.4, the 90 ps is the most common, and reliable of the Mk 6 2.4

As for length that's up to you, the medium is a good compromise

You need a Transit 300 + (300, 330, 350) SWB (300/330) will make sure you can maneuver easily :!:
Low roof will be required for for getting into some car parks :!: So this needs to be taken into consideration

As for FWD or RWD, it doesn't really matter, as you won't be towing :!:
