you will see a threaded piece with a lock nut on it undo lock nut and wind threaded piece and have someone gently rock it left too right you should feel the difference jack it up and get wheel couple inch off floor before starting too adjust it

its a 2.4 diesel - 2360cc - has di on top of the air filter cover

the threaded piece is already wound all the way in on steering box - does that mean theres no adjustment left on it ?

The Di is 2496cc, dont know why you have a Di airbox :? Does the engine have glow plugs? Yorkies give good service as long as they are serviced well, my Yorkie has the glow timer bypassed and a button operating a starter solenoid allows me to heat 'em up for a bit longer :D Dont wind the adjustment out as it will make matters worse, slacken the nut and screw the inner part until it contacts inside the box, back it off a 1/4 turn and lock up. if you still have play the change the box :wink:
