glow plug removal advice

hi im about to relace the glow plugs on my 125 tddi, ive heard alot about them snapping in the head,can anyne give me some good advice about removing them without snapping like lubrication or heat,cheers glen

checked them and found one dead plus its taking longer for light to go out?

From what Nighthawk says there doesn't appear to be any way of doing these, if they are stuck they will snap. So be prepared that if you have to do them then there is a likely hood that they will break.

if you're worried about breaking it - leave it for now - these don't need glow plugs to start anyway unless it gets really cold

Since I had one snap the first time I tried to do any I got a very fine nozzle for the blowtorch, I just heat the base up then 'shock' them undone, thankfully I've not snapped another one since but I'm not taking it for granted that it wont happen again :(

what do you use to shock it - impact gun? that works really well on the notorious HCS spark plugs as well

I dont use an air gun on them no, I have a deep socket and had an extension made up that fits onto my impact driver, a couple of sharp tapps on the top and as soon as they start to move I douse them in wd40....leave for 2 mins while it works its way down the threads and up to now they seem to come out :D
