Battery Boosters - the good, the bad and the useless?

Postby kicker » Wed Jan 10, 2007 12:16 pm

I'm in the market for a battery booster and I was wondering if anybody out there had any experience of them. I'll be needing it to start my 2.5 di, so I'm guessing that I'd need at least a 400a unit (though I think that 700a would be better) but the price seem to vay a lot from about £40 to over £200.. So has anyone got any reccommendations?
And any ideas where to get them cheap?

I had a cheap one off ebay before, about £30 odd. Never actually used it for boosting anything but used the light and 12v socket on it quite a bit, and the battery's now shagged on it
