Mk1 mirrors

Postby Anthony » Wed Jan 31, 2007 5:24 pm

Hi, does anyone know if the original Mk1 mirrors (Fitted to the early Mk1s with the fixing hole in the centre opposed to being offset) were smaller than that of the later mirrors. I recently bought a set off Ebay and they turned up today but when I compared them to a set of later mirrors I had they are really small. Is this right or were the mirrors I bought miss advertised :?:

I have to say the mirrors are one thing I am not looking forward to about driving a Mk1.

Too small and too far away. I can't see any of the driver's wheen arch out of ours, and there doesn't seem any way of tilting it lower, to see more bodywork. OK for driving, but crap for manouvering.

Are the LHD one worse then? I notice the Mk1 mirrors are all in the same place, unlike the Mk2.
