Question about split charge relay

Postby dht » Fri Nov 08, 2013 1:22 am

I bought a Smarcom split charge relay from ebay but it does not seam to charge my leisure battery. I wired the split charge relay according to instructions, but when the motor is running there is no +12V feed to "Ext. Bat". There is a continuous "click" sound from the split charge relay.

The seller didn't reply to my messages.

Please explain to me how does the slit charge relay work and how I can solve the problem.

Split charge is a function that connects your leisure battery once your running voltage goes over about 13.4v, this means only when engine running and alternator up to correct voltage output. Some also limit current to avoid cable damage.

I checked the wires, they are all correct.

How can I check if the split charge relay is in working order?

There is a "Adjustment" in the Smartcom split charge relay. What does this adjust? How and when we can make some adjustment?

I'm not sure what the adjustment is as my relay didn't have that to me relay should be wired from the main battery to the left so live and then neutral could be from battery or body then aux to other battery live then earth the other battery to the body
