That's a good idea, I bought a Roller over from Troon to Syd a deco or so ago. No probs. Shouldn't be any problem rego'ing (mot) over here. There used to be a bit of lurk in picking up a new Merc in Germany and landing it over here and then selling it without tax imposed making it many thousands cheaper than the market. Think you have to own it for 6months over there first.

Looking good!! Where did you get the red material from? I'm going to be lining out the inside of my van (i've added polystyrene+plywood) ontop of the wood. I was looking for carpet but havn't found any that's a bright enough red but what you've used looks good. how have you fitted it? spray contact adhesive?

Like the workmanship, everything is nicely finished
(unlike my work).
But.......... Can I make a suggestion.
The seat frames it would be a very good idea to weld in a diagonal
(lower front, to upper rear, or vice versa, that would make it/them
structurally much stronger/safer.

funny enough i was just thinking the same thing, you need some additional supports in there to help incase of sudden weight transfer

hello all , cheer's for tacking the time to have a look at my work, as my dad once said" if your going to do something, do it right or dont bother" my attitude then was somewhat different as you could imagine to what it is now . but from expirience i do tend to keep that thought in mind now. the red matirial is infact carpet which i scorred from carpet wright, and i used spray on addhesive to stick all it down, dont forget to spray both sides though.
thanks for the comments on the seat frames, hum ??interesting topic... i thought about what you said, and in my oppinion for what it's worth there seems to be a common misconception prehaps? (i'm assuming we are talking about in the eventuality of an accident ) with regards to over engineering of seat support/s thats not to say over engineering is a bad thing of course!!! however in an accident the sudden transfer of wheight is taken up by the seat belts.this is the area where i feel the attention is most required , how many custom cars ,off roaders and campers ect have you seen whose owners have made all the effort in the world to fit nice seats but left the seat belts ( the life savers )and any consideration for there safe mounting and possitioning till last.like an afterthought

sorry going on one a bit there i do apriciate the input honestly however giving the expirience i have in steel work i think i might leave them as they arefor now. bear in mind though a structure is only as strong as it's weekest point ( the bolts in my case), but each one of them should hold a half tone, so should be ok.

any hoo off out to do some uppolstery now be back later i could be wrong about the seats of corse let me know what you think

if u trust your engineering skills and welding then i would leave it as they are.I love the red carpet.i am going to do something similar but using blue carpet (i like blue)
