yeah agreed ...... but you have to catch them early, if they start to rust its probably too late :( and youll have to use a rust converter first ..... funny how no-body from Davids (company that makes waxoil) has never made a deal with ford to have "whole vehicle waxoil treatment" added to their options list on first purchase ..... buts lets face it they need to do something, but in this age of dissposable everything ... its not in their intrests from a business sense to make stuff that lasts :(

this is the stuff!!! get some bought this summer!! 99% of motor factors stock it!! - buy the pump spray aswell and give everything a good coat!!
Best £20 you will ever spend!!

use it on:-

inside chassis rails
inside sills
inner arches - from inside van
inside all doors
under dashboard
in bonnet front edge
up side of windscreen
door hinge panel
etc- you get the idea :D

Basically seals the metal like a paint but wont flake off - renew it every 5 years or so!!

Also do the under body and arches in ....... forgot the name of the stuff "thick black underseal paint" go over it all with a wire brush 1st then give it a thick coating all over!!!

After Hours, days............. mabe even years spent welding old fords(not just transits!!) I could go on all night about waxoiling (yes i really am that boring  ) but some quick tips:-
1- if its not a hot day the wax wont spray properly so stand the tin in a bucket of boiling water!!
2- concentrait on getting total coverage ie when spraying into the chassis rails the bit you miss will be the bit that rusts through in a few years!! sometimes its even worth getting the van on ramps (ie just the front wheels or just the side 2!!) to get a better angle to spray in to!
3- also give more attention to panel joints and known rust spots!
4- take any plywood panels/ door cards out to get behind them - its worth the effort
5- the chassis rail have plastic plugs in every so often take these out to spray into!!!
6- if need be drill holes into panels to spray into!!
7- YOU CANT PUT TOO MUCH ON!!!

How do you know, am I to assume that you have TRIED this? Still, what you get up to in the privacy of your own home, between consenting adults, is nothing to do with me.............................!
