Well guys Me and my brother started a Mobile valeting business a few weeks ago so went out and got a Ford Connect T200 in a rare Metalic Blue on a 55plate - and its spot on

got it with the rear boarded up but we soon sorted that..

how we got it

The only thing that I'd advise on is that you be careful with your water storage, as I think most, if not all valet/detail folk have had an accident with water leakage. Not sure how that would be with carpet

It's always a bit sad to see Connects, particularly metallics, which have been ply-lined. It makes them indistinguishable from the flimsy & crap PSA-group vans which are so much cheaper.

I'm always mystified why folks don't use the features they've paid extra for to get what's a much sturdier van.

For instance, Ford go to all the effort of fitting about 20 reinforced fixing points at all levels as alternative locations for the lashing load rings. That was the decisive factor for me in choosing a Connect because I wanted something to use for my hobby rather than a working vehicle.I've used nearly all of these fixing points to install units and rails I've made up. These are rock solid without any squeaks or rattles, and won't come adrift.

Unlike VW Caddy's, Connects now come with a factory fit contoured rubber (vinyl?) mat in the load compartment which doubles as a spill tray. I've installed 1-metre depth heavy ribbed Tuff-Tread in mine sandwiched been the D-Ring/Torx fixing points in the floor. Water spills dry out naturally, but these come out in seconds for anything else which can be hosed off.

All other manufacturers expect you to drill holes to fit anything inside the van, because their assumption is that these will be obscured by ply or MDF board. If my need was for carting tools and any other kit around my buy would have been one of these to avoid wasting money.

I'm going to send a copy of this post to Ford in the hope of getting a discount off my next van 10 years on.

Did you opt for that hoover over Henry for any particular reason btw? Am looking at replacing my knakered Henry atm, and that's one of the ones I'm considering...

we looked into a few Hoovers, my mother has an henry and its not to bad but we wanted something stronger and found the numatic in the Ad-mag brand new at £40 - bargin and he had a few of them -

if your looking at the same, there very good hoovers and suction is super strong, its the 370 model and not to noisy - id defo buy another one

LOL - i know but i had it give me brand new so chucked it in the van (prob wont even use it) - we use a Megs G220 and looking at the porter cable at the min as a second one

Nope it's alive and well - currently trying to get the forum more active and more members on board seeing as the "other forum" is quieter these days.

We have big plans in the pipeline to try and get an established body set up similar to corgi / gas safe for plumbers etc so that anybody who's a member can be trusted etc
