MK6 2.4DI RWD - what's this leak?

Postby artru » Fri May 28, 2010 6:11 pm

Recently I've discovered oily stains on the place I always park my Transit, so I took a look underneath.

then I opened the hood to find the back injectors like this

what could this leak be? Is it an urgent repair and will it be costly?

Those aren't spark plugs, they are the diesel injectors and it looks like a diesel leak.

Could it be injector seals if they've been out before ?

I'd start it up and see where it's leaking from first.

if it's injector seals quite easy but you still have to take the injector feed pipes off to slip the old ones off and new ones on! then the toughest bit re bleeding the bitch :x

checked the bolts, they were tight, so it it'll be the injector seals, like you said

looks like a puddle of diesel to me more than injector seals.
