MK7 immobiliser problem?

Van was running fine ,stopped to nip into workshop ,went back out and the van wont start, tried locking /iunlocking using the fob but as soon as you put key in the ignition position the red led goes from solid then flashes very fast ,all the ign lights etc come on but the starter wont engage, if you then turn off and back on quickly the engine will turn say 3 turns then starter relay clicks off.
The battery seems normal and fully charged
Has the key fob lost its code?
its a 350 lwb 140ps 07 plate btw

no the van has 2 batterys ,one for engine and other for everything else

If the key is at fault could it not be replaced under "key recall"

so i go out to the van , pull out the battery cover and stick a digi volt meter on both batteries (didnt know that btw) they both read over 12v so i thought id check it with the ign on to see if it dropped .
Guess what
the immobiliser light goes out and it starts first turn
anyone got any idea why? both battery terminal sets are tight and secure,
i would really hate this to happen again somewhere cold and far away

ok its now back faulty !!
Looking like the key fob now as the buttons have stopped working the doors remotely, unless by coincidence the fob has decided to pack in as well
Need to hunt out the spare std key and see if that starts the van to confirm the fob is U/S

If these charge up of the ignition why not leave it in the ignition for 15 minutes,if you cannot find the spare of course.

Have you been using the fob a lot without putting the key in the ignition ? If you have it may just be the "battery" in the fob has run out. It gets charged up from the van when the key is in and the ignition is on.

Been hunting the original STD non remote key to see if it will start with that (still not found it)
Should a fob type key start the van even if its flat ?
if I can't find the other key what Are my options ? The blue part clips out from the key so can I buy the blue bit and reprogramm that to the van without taking it to the dealers or do I have to trailer the van to the dealer to get it done there?
BTW the fob buttons were hardly used before it stopped working or went flat

It won't hurt to see if it will charge if left in the ignition for a bit and if it don't take the key to ford and let them test it for you.

tried the key in the ign for a bit in position 1 , but no difference, does the key have to be in the 'ign on' position to charge? ie with all the warning lights on?

I seem to remember that there was a problem with keys not charging properly on some of these vans. I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere

Thanks for that, ive looked it up on ford etis and it doesnt come up with any key recalls, it did get keys under warranty but none since.
Im still not sure whether a flat key fob should start the van or not ?
Currently looking like a tow in job to the dealers unless i find the spare std key to see if that starts it
