Postby Luke » Wed Sep 07, 2005 6:00 pm

This is my pick-up origanally a swb single wheel ive swapped it over to mk3 twin wheel spec!! :D
Image
My origanal plan was to make it a car transporter with crewcab but im gonna try to get it done as a standard pick-up to start with!!
Ive done 90% of the welding just got the rear chassis to do and a bit of finishing off on the cab!! engine is a 2.5Di with a 5 speed type9 box!! :)
More piccys can be seen here in the gallery!!
I'll update you on my progress as i get on!! :D

Good day today got an ally back for it!!! :D £40 locally!! 8) result!! and it aint in bad nick either!!! Thanks to all kids who helped me lift it in place!! see below!!!!

Image

only problem is as mine is a swb with an extra wide twin wheel axle and i thought i would have problems, i really wanted a new lwb crewcab one so i could have the width and the length but tight arses cant be choosers!!
piccy below showing the "flareside look" (and thats centred) :?

hmmm mabe a conversion back to single rear wheel or a body extention are on the cards, either way my eventual plans are crewcab with car transporter back so its only temparary!!! :D

Child labour, that's what it's all about! Don't understand what's going on with the wheels though, what did the bed come off?

sherpa!!!
but its my axle i have a single wheel 6stud with twin wheels fitted, extra wide!! 8) if i put a standard twin on they would almost be inside the bed but as i have a single wheel chassis a standard twin axle wont fit - if you catch my drift!!! :D

Ah right, you have a late axle fitted with twins instead of singles. You would be better off with a Mk2 axle, that would tuck under the body nicely.
