I don't often get chance to play so whenever I do I am normally on my own! it takes a bit longer and probably dented the door but at least I got it off and started cutting!!! shame it got dark so early!

i just been thinking about my grill that broke in the wind, I bought a new mk5 grill but I prefer the look of the mk4, will a mk4 grill fit straight on with no or little hassle???
think i'm gonna paint my bumper and mirrors too,
but I can't get the bumper bolts out on the ends they just rounded off so gonna have to spray on the van!

I have some mk6 mirrors I was going to try and fit but they are too different so if anyone wants a swap for mk 5 mirrors with trim then that would be handy and save some more money

still need a lav spring too if anyone can nick me one!!

yep a mk4 grill will fit a mk5, the only slight differences are the supports and the end bolts - the mk5 clips in but the mk4 screws in, but easly sorted

i like the modified mk4 grill with the centre slats cut out that a few have done this was the 1st i saw, my mate martins ex-smiley mk5

I'm annoyed that i got a mk5 one now! the mk4 ones look more modern for some reason! the way it sweeps into the bumper,
can you tell me what the panel that the bumper bolts to under the wing is called and can you get new ones? i can't get the bolt out of it the torx just rounded off, really annoying so looks like i'm gonna have to cut the head off (god knows how i'm gonna get the rusty thread out even with extraction tool as it's rusted in,)
after cutting my wing i found a fair bit of rot in the panel under so it's going to be more work!
but hey ho i'll get there in the end, hopefully mania isn't too soon or i won't make it,
is the 6 wheeler done yet? shame it's not auto or i'd bid on it! be interesting to see what it fetches, did it get mot? wish I could help with it but vans off rd and my range rover needs a few bits before i can drive it far, but vans in the shed and staying till it's done!!

Transitmania will be around the end of august :D the 6 wheelers not done yet - MOT next step

the hubs will swap over  - the fronts you can keep the 6 stud brakes (as they are bigger) but the back they dont swap so the problem is when it comes to the MOT test and needs to meet the efficiency for the 6 stud axle :? if i was doing it i'd fit mk5 front hubs redrilled to fit 14mm mk6 studs and fit a complete mk6 back axle then redrill landrover wellers to suit 8) (using tapered bolts just like we've done on the 6 wheeler) - that way it will be fine with 3500kg weights - no bodges 8)

No bodges!!!
so I can't grind off my 6 studs and weld 5 back on!!! lol
It's weird because I often see lwb semi's with 5 stud wheels,
Mine is a 150, thing is I like the rear axel as it's the cruising diff, I/m not going to carry much weight, so it's a shame the hubs won't swap, and a shame I can't lower the rear too as it's rather high! I think i'll stick with bodywork at the mo! do you know what the panel under the end of the bumber (under wing) is called and can i get one? otherwise I will have to make one!? that's the trouble with rust in my experience it's always worse when you start cutting it away,,, I once went to repair a small hole in the boot floor of a classic merc I had and the whole floor came out!!
is there a nack to getting the drivers seat out? the bolts are so rusty I'm scard of rounding the torx off like i did with that fecking bumper end! it's always the awkward to get to ones that are a pain!!
I'd like to fit my range rover seats and wheels to the van! but that'd leave my range rover buggered!!!

5 stud won't be a 4.63 diff :? Might be a 4.56?

You going to take some pics and advertise the bits on here? I guess you want the propshaft? If not I might be interested...
