Insulation - How much?

Postby Tom2023 » Sat May 26, 2012 8:44 am

I was wondering what thickness of kingspan to use on the floor, the sides and the roof of my van.

I was also wondering just how effective Kingspan on the floor, sides and roof actually is at keeping a van warm. The windows won't be insulated neither will the driver & passenger area. That's a lot of glass for heat to escape from. Not that I plan visiting the Artic Circle.

We're fine weather leisure campervanners. Not hard core canmping in a scottish layby in Jan campers. I did ours with the recycled silver bubble stuff from B&q warehouse, before boarding and carpeting.

Insulation - How much?

I've used both, loft ins is cheap but very messy to work with, if your not going to cover the windows or cabin area I wouldn't bother, but unless you but something over the open spaces it gets very cold!! I but heavy curtains on these areas and loft inst everywhere else and used it all year round! Perfect!!
