Ford Transit MK7 2.2 tdci diesel leak, need seal info

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had the specific measurements for the copper rings for the Pressure Sensor and the Pressure Relief Valve?
Ford here in Norway doesnt sell either of em new as a standalone part so buying seals isnt possible either.

Anyone have the correct measurements so I can buy them at my local fittings store?

Can't you measure your own

Don't remove them unless there is a problem with them.

Actually, thinking about it the pressure relief valve has a special shim and I don't remember it being copper.
and having check my copy of etis, ford make no provision for removing the pressure sensor - if it fails you replace the fuel rail.

There is a leak so I have to fix it. My car is running a bit groggy and so I have to atleast fix that before I try anything more.

Anyone have a photo of the seals?

What ? at both end of the fuel rail ?
Some idiot must have removed the sensor and valve and not refitted them properly.

I did a quick search on google.
First page of images ( didn't even scroll down ) lots of fuel sensors available.
Looks like they have an integrated face seal, so NO washer.
Unfortunately there is no published info from ford on how to fit the sensor.
Should be easy to google.

There is a how to for changing the prv viewtopic.php?f=18&t=164180
The missing info is that you fit the prv to 30 Nm torque.
Then you mark a line on the valve and rail.
Then you loosen and retorque the valve to 172 Nm.
The lines must now be at least 3mm apart.
The pipe connector on the valve is done up to 20 Nm and be careful as they appear to be made from toffee.

Part of what I do at work is sensor technology related.

I'd actually prefer to see the primary seal before the thread with the ring indicated as a secondary seal.

I got1 in that had been over tightened it would not seal even with a new valve,the owner did not want a new rail fitted so I put a tiny among of locktight hydraulic seal on the prv after cleaning and drying both the rail and valve with brake cleaner and compressed air if you are going to try this

AS ALWAYS CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN
Dry all components
Only use enough sealant to fill the root of 2/3 treads
Apply 1/2 way up the threads ,too close to the tip and sealant can get into the rail
Allow adequate cure time
AND FINALLY F**K HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT

Which loctite ?
The thread sealants are not necessarily strong.

Have to agree with the cleaning, can't be too clean.

Supposed to be medium strength, needs approx. 15Nm to undo it ( on an M10 thread from memory )

that would be correct so that then becomes the 172 nm plus the extra 15 nm that the lock tight adds to the equation not forgetting that the 172 is a dry torque so the sealant will put it over anyways plus the heat = hard to remove

If you've got a dry torque and you put liquid sealant on it will attain a higher torque for a given setting because of the lubricating effects of the sealant used before it has cured
