Has anyone fitted a leisure battery to theire Transit? I have a 2.5D, and would like to fit a leisure battery to power lights and fridge in the rear which i am converting in to a camper van. Does anyone have any tips, or a circuit diagram??
You can buy split charge relays from your local camping/caravan store and some car spares shops, but what I would reccommend is to use proper auto cables and not mains flex, espcially over longer runs, make sure your joints are good, I have soldered all my crimpped fittings.
The only trouble I have had in the two years is that my battery isnt in a battery box and the vapour burnt a hole in a sleeping bag which was right next to it

It's because it's mircoprocessor controlled, it will only start charging the Leisure battry once the starting battery is fully charged, but it will also open if the starter battery is drained to assis in starting. Very clever bit of kit, you get what you pay for as they say!
