yb has a much harder punch than the 24v, if you "use" the power the box will last on average 6 weeks  , a friend cossied(yb) a Transit a few years back now and used the power, thats how we know about the lifespan of the box :D

1. No. you can use a di
2. anything mk1-5 would be easier
3. later MK3's and all mk 4/5's have MT75
4. Any pinto MT75 transits have an adaptor plate. i.e MK3/4
5. Dont no about the loom. i can do BOA looms

Have a look here some usefull info on there

Yes, yes and yes.

BOA is the early 24valve V6 Cosworth.

Mk3 is 1986-91
Mk4 is 1991-94

Arches are where they rust,

And as said before try a search as most of your questions are not new ones!

I'm not saying it's easy but it is all there! And I'm not just talking about the Cosworth questions.

I'd say that's already been answered above.

But as Geoff says above, and he has experience, the box probably wont last very long.

mt75s arnt all bad - they use them in the 4wd cossy like you say info's all there gazza can make up his own mind on what to use- personally id stick a mt75 and if it broke stick another in ive got about 5 in my shed if i used all of them up then id convert it to something else - that way your not doing all the work at once :D
bit like mine with the axle - ive been told it wont last and ive been told it will - im taking my chance if it doesnt last ill only be doing an axle conversion rather than an engine/axle conversion in one go :D

Different MT75, and again as Geoff says the YB is a different type of power to the BOA\B.

ive got to agree with luke on this one
stick the mt75 in and see how you go just change one thing at a time
less daunting project then
