fuel hose connections to your fuel rail

Postby dipstick » Mon Jan 15, 2007 10:23 pm

Luke,

As a sort of aside, how did you connect the fuel hose to the fuel rail?
Did the BOA come with plastic hose, about JIC -4 i think, swaged on to the fuel rail?

If so, how did you connect to this plastic hose.......?

Cheers :?

My BOA has push on connectors that then screw to the rail. i just pushed rubber pipe on and jubilee clipped it.

Then cut it off with the plenum

ive already cut out the air con wires - and theres a few unknowns to sort  but its slowly getting thinner :D

now, i was thinking of putting the ecu in the engine bay, basically to save cutting a hole thro the bulkhead, mk4 transit petrols ecus are there so i hope it will be ok

ECU will be fine in the engine bay - pick a position away from heat and moisture

newer cars now have them bolted to the engine (different design of ECU of course)

well im progressing with the loom  just trial fitted it in the van and the ecu sits neat on the n/s innerwing so thats where it will stay :D ive also got a problem mounting the coil i'd like to mount it on the bulkhead behind the engine but it can only be acessed by either removing the plenum or dropping the engine mounts - bit of a pain really but mabe thats one of the down sides - just hope the coil never breaks

other than that on the exhaust front im thinking of making a single exit type system with the o/s branch going under the sump to meet the other side - then take them both out of the easy side  but this is just to put me on till i fit the turbos :?

made this today :D its just a mock up of the flanges in ply to see any problems i might have - tried it on the engine and it fitted fine 8) i figured if they were ok in ply i could get them much more accurate in steel
Image
i ordered the stainless tubing today and ive got the plate coming tomorrow :D

what my plan now is to make 2 sets a stainless pair for the turbos and a mild pair just to get it running n/a

well thats the plan at the moment - these things change
