I have had six sets of high quality aluminium wheel adapters manufactured for transit to 120mm PCD, this is a very popular stud spacing, BMW and Range Rover 16 17 18 19 and 20 inch alloys are easy come by very cheaply, I picked up a almost new set of Range Rover alloys without tyres for £50, I am keeping a set for myself and am selling the others at cost, £150 per set of 4, six was the minimum order for CNC machining, I'm not doing this for a profit. Get in touch if these are of interest, I can have them couriered by DHL for £11.50

They are for Transits with 5 x 160mm PCD and 12mm studs, should fit Marks 1 to 4, the angle of the wheel nut has been replicated at the area where the transit studs go thru to perfectly centre the wheel, I've been told that you could use two adapters on the rear axle and have the front hubs drilled to suit.

for future reference if you want adapters for the back print off this and take it to a local machine shop and they should be able to give you a price :D

Image

and this is what they look like when made :D

Image

the pcd on the studs varies as to what type of wheel you are fitting - if your unsure of anything PM me or start a new thread and i'll help you out :D

now lets keep this thread to FRONT wheel redrills

This is a one off opertunity ive no intention of making any more :!:

if you do want a set you would be able to have them whatever 5 stud PCD you wish sorry no 4 studs :(
the cost is going to be around £80 to £100 the more i get done the cheeper it will be, also you will have to provide some hubs and new studs (available from rally design) - these take a while to make so better getting a spare set of hubs :D

and mk3 is different to mk4/5 so get the correct spares

remember these are only the fronts :!: you will have to sort the rears out yourself - i can help with a drawing of rear adapters but if you search you'll find the info on here allready

i am confident that these are safe and up to the job, i would not do them otherwise :!:

so if you do want some PM me :D

I had quite a few people PM me about this and ive not recieved any hubs from you yet :!: - if you still want them doing you need to get them to me quickly - i'll be treating the 4 sets ive got very soon and once there done thats it :!:
if you really need me to hang on get in touch otherwise i'll just do these i have
:D

Is there a way to link a file to a post, or upload an attatchment?
I will do a 3D AutoCAD model of this spacer with various PCDs and if anybody wants to get sets made by CNC guys you just give them a copy of the file and they translate it into machine language automatically and off it goes.
I model up most of my projects now, you can get a much better idea of it in 3D and it links so easily to CNC machining.

Hey guys, just been searching the web for off-set hubs, axle beams ect, for a rally car and came across a few web pages and info on these sort of adapters that your making up. Thought you may want to check out the info thats all.

Some of the info on hub adapters was interesting to me.

e.g.

Can you build them in steel?

We choose to build our adapters from billet aluminum. When properly engineered, the adapters are stronger than the hub they bolt onto, so it doesn't make sense to machine much heavier adapters from steel. Our adapters have been used on heavily modified 4x4 trucks, rock crawlers, and full-size trucks, without any problems.

Do the bolt-on wheel adapters increase the load on suspension parts?

The suspension loads are only affected by the centerline of the tire. Billet adapters usually correct offset issues when bolting newer style high offset wheels onto older cars that were designed with low offset wheels. A wheel with a 51mm offset and a 2" adapter is identical to the suspension as a 0mm factory wheel. This loads are the same on the wheel studs, bearings, bushings, because the wheel is in exactly the same location on the car.

Can I use your adapters for racing or rock crawling?

We've been using the billet adapters on our twin turbo Camaro road race car. So far we've torn driveshafts, snapped axles, and broken torque arms, and the adapters have always been perfect. We are great at product testing (i.e. finding the limits of components when they break!). If we can't break it, it won't break.

Well, here's a pic of the model using the info in the sketch.
I can change it to any PCD as well.

Much more fun doing this sort of stuff than the revisions to ship hull frames and so forth that I do at work all day....

I read this thread with great interest - and i mite change my wheels sometime in the future as i,ve got some OZ alloys in me garage - originally bought for a trike project i'm doing.
they are off a vitara and pcd is approx 130mm 5 stud.

to save me time trawling throught the thread again - are you saying that it is possible to drill your own front hubs after an acurate measure and using a bench press drill but the rears will have to have adaptor plates made?

:?:

ooooopS!!! just found the thread - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2903

Cheers guys
