Postby transitgeoff » Thu Mar 29, 2007 8:12 pm

Well i took the plunge and bought one of those 15.4 flip down Dvd screens from ebay for £125, dunno if it was a good price or not really, theres plenty on ebay but nearly all in Hong Kong, this one was in England so i thought i would have a go,now my problem is what do i get to play the dvd in? :? i have a split charge system and invertor so 240 volt is ok or should i go with 12 volt, the screen is 12 volt and will prolly be better to not have to use the invertor ...or would it, :? any input greatly appreciated 8)

Could you use a PS2? They play DVD's. Lots of people have them in their vehicles and there must be loads of kits to convert stuff.

The only thing is that some of the earlier PS2's (like mine) go a bit wierd if you play lots of DVD's on them. You can check by clicking on the system configeration.
It shouldnt be too much of a problem though as there are loads about and most cheaper than standard DVD players.

I have been looking at these recently, most of the play all formats from disc to smart cards as standard... Although, all the ones I have looked at are 10.4 this is the only 15 I can find, but not a good discription

TBH if it was me I'd be tempted to just go down to Tesco and buy a £17 240v DVD player :P

Is this or kids too? Xbox's are cheap now (£50ish new) and will play dvds . Also with mods will play them from hard drive also I believe divx films and mp3's. Plus its a games machine when your fed up of films.

Why not build a small form factor PC, you could probably get one in the glove box, or if not then mounted in a box of its own, then you could play DVD's, PC games etc AND get the kids to do their homework while you are away
