What engine wuld you project fit?

Postby poppajoe » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:59 pm

(Admin feel free to move if needed)

Ok, most of you know that I am not a transit owner so - I am gonna change that just for a one off.

I had to borrow the works beaten one last night to collect my daughters birthday present " scooter" and they really are a good van to drive, ours is a long wheel base high top 2.5di, single rear wheel with PS/ABS and 300k miles on "W" and apart from rattling like a bag of chains and having a "town diff" it is like a car to drive and goes anywhere all day long with my foot on the floor.

So, credit to the vans, in my book thats worth the justice of me projecting one for a one off.

Thats where you lot come in, now that the boat is finished I wouldn't mind doing one but with a fast engine maybe a diesel or petrol not sure. I don't wanna go stupid and do a cossey unless I can get my money back cos I aint gonna keep it but making some of my money back at the end would be nice.

So, what engine would any of you like to put in but have never heard of done, and I do want it too look nice too in the end and a little different but it must end up a classy ford to look at and probably "diamond white" my fav colour.

So, suggest on peeps, what model to start with MK5? what wheel base? DRW? etc.

Lets see if you can get me enthused into it.

I will be doing ALL the work myself apart from spraying at the end.

And as a budget sat 2-3K all in at most.

I will of course do a project thread in the correct section here.

oh and one more (sensable) one i'd like to do or see done is a 2.0 zetec mated to transit MT75 in any transit but ideally a flat fronted mk1 8)

wouldnt be too difficult zetec is same bolt patten as pinto but would need a bit of engineering to get it in :D

That's my Autobox :!: of course :!:
The Jatco JR402.

You don't expect me to be driving around in London, in my MK5 "LEZ compliant" van without one of those :?:

This is the japanese transmission that the Transit powered Taxi TXIIs use  So it should "bolt on" :D
