97 2.5 air con wiring problems

Postby paul302289 » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:28 pm

i've fitted air con from a 98 turbo diesel minibus into my 97 lwb non turbo. Everything has been a straigth bolt on, having it gassed tommorow. Just got a couple of stray wires i'm having trouble with, can anyone help? i'm determined to get this working as it was a very labour intensive job and I have spent so much time on it ,it has to work

a/c wiring

Postby paul302289 » Wed Aug 29, 2007 9:28 am

got a couple of strays. black and yellow. violet and yellow, violet and blue that are spliced into a violet and blue from the little extra underbonnet fuse/relay box that origionally went to the ecu main plug. then under the dash there is a bosch fuel injection type 2 pin plug, one wire is violet and orange an the other pin has 2 wires, violet and white, violet. There are two loose wires with female shrouded spades, one black and one violet, then finally there is a small 5 pin plug with only 2 pins installed, both of the wires are violet and blue. I removed absolutely everything from the doner van except the underdash ducting that I thought would be the same. I was very particular an took all associated additional loom and labelled everything, or so i thought, just had it gassed so can start playing.any advice would be appreciated, I have just got back from my lock ford dealer and they are going to see if they can find the wiring diagram I need, we'll see. If you think you can be of help you can leave me your number and i'll get back to you, or you can contact me, Paul 07930396408, if I don't answer leave a message, cheers

On the Turbo diesel, the ECU is told that you have switched on the air con.
This in turn, not only increases the idle speed of the engine but also switches on the two additional electric fans :!:

As you don't have an ECU, you'll have to make up your own relay circuit for the fans to switch on :!:
It shouldn't be a problem, as the option was available on the 76PS also

right as andy says the 2 to the ECU are for the WOT and the increaced tick over :D

Just cut them out :D

The big yellow :? :? relay is for the leccy fans.

ALL the air con wiring is self contained apart from on the TD :D
