waxoil or old oil which?

i am thinking of giving the old bus and underneath spray with either waxoil or old oil what do members use?
if you use old oil do you mix it with anything?

yeah for what it saves you in the long run invest in some waxoil its not that expensive

old oil contains acis of some sort years ago when i worked at an industrial museum we only used white oil or waxol for preservation ,any donated items that came in preserved in old where subjected to a rigorous cleaning program to remove old oil.

as a temporary measure i use new oil mixed with red diesel to stop the rust. lasts about 9 months befor it needs doing again

i have just finshed painting the chasses of my transit in waxoil underseal. seams pretty good its under seal with waxoil in it 2.5L is £10 from holfords so could get it cheaper from some were eles but 2.5L has dont the chasses on my van still got 1/4 of a tin left and i have blobed it on thick. i would say waxoil as i split some old engine oil in my van and the paint just rubs off the floor leaving the metal bear

You can brush it on or Waxoyl (Hammerite) make a special sprayer. Guess you could apply it with a std paint gun too?

if you have, or can borrow a compressor, get one of these, makes the job easy, waxoyl sprays better when warmed up in a bucket of hot water first

i think you can even buy it in those sized cans now , the best stuff is called dinitrol same as waxoil but performs better in the long run

but its certanly better off on the compresser - gets it right down the insides of the chassis rails
