amplifier whine

Postby Guy88 » Mon May 19, 2008 9:41 pm

Just got the 6x9's and me subs rigged in the MK6 but got a couple of problems

Its got a verv bad alternator whine, whats the best gadget to stop this, iv checked all the earths and there good

Also with the volume on 0 i get a rumble and the odd bang from the sub and 6x9's, what would cause this, i get it engine on or engine off but its only thru the amplified speakers

Any ideas people, sound qualitys spot on apart from the above

Its a pioneer head unit, nikkai amp, twin mutant subs and vibe 6x9's, premium cables and gold plated rca's one set for sum and 1 set for full range

RCA's are completley away from power leads, the amp is behind the drivers seat and the batteries are under the seat, RCA's run along the floor and up the passenger side step and a pillar across the dash to the stereo

u say batteries does that mean u have 2 if so u may have a magnetic field which is affecting the amp directly

You got a problem then mate, I've fitted loads of isolators to get rid of whine, usually on diesels too.

Is the suppressor conected on the back of the alternator? or is it built in on the Mk6?
